Jerry spends 2 years in the New York food truck scene
In 2011, Jerry arrives in New York City where he starts working as a Belgian waffle baker in the streets of Manhattan. For 2 years he takes in everything the cosmopolitan epicenter of the world has to offer. While serving waffles & coffee in Central Park, he starts dreaming of bringing this New York vibe back to Europe…
Phil pursues his passion to become a chef
In order to build a great company, you need a great team. Phil Vandermeulen, Jerry’s brother, graduated as a professional cook at Hotelschool Spermalie, Bruges. He has an extensive culinary track-record in the Belgian restaurant industry where he developed a passion for excellent food with an appreciation for American ''cuisine''.

The purpose of the Vandermeulen Brothers is to bring out the best New York has to offer: delicious flame-grilled steak burgers, authentic & dynamic guest service in a vibrant décor.
On October 22nd, 2014, Manhattn's opened its doors for the first time on 164 Avenue Louise, Brussels. Amidst skyscrapers and the busy Place Stephanie, this famous Belgian avenue makes you feel like a New Yorker.
